This is my school contents page. I have added images to make it look more interesting and used the colour scheme of yellow, white and black to represent the school. I have carried out the colour scheme to make the magazine look a part of it. I attempted to experiment with boarder lines, in black, making it look more neat and well presented. I have tried to keep the contents page conventional by trying to making a white border in between. However, I only have two columns, which challenges the conventional look. I included page numbers so that the contents page looks more professional and conventional. These page references are smaller than the font of the main writing because I didn't want the focus being taken off the content of the page. My writing style is formal making the magazine more professional and representing the school.
I have experimented with different tools when designing the contents page in order to make myself comfortable when actually designing my final design. I used a shadow for the word 'CONTENTS' to make it look more 3D and more noticeable. I have used a conventional design for the masthead because many magazine contents pages include their logo somewhere on the page of the contents. Usually in the corner where mine is placed. I have added boxes around some separate chunks of information in order to make it look more neat and therefore, attract the reader. I am hoping to use InDesign for my final contents page as I have practiced for this page and I am slightly more comfortable with using this software.
