I also, looking through different magazines, found out that it's quite a traditional colour to use. The old is becoming more fashionable currently which is perfect for my traditional British magazine. It gives the essence of the olden days to the youthful readers of this generation, enlightening them to black and white cameras, red from the British flag and a more effortless image of the artist. I feel this all brings back 'a flash from the past' which is homely and comforting for the readers. However, the actual content of the magazine is very much modern which completely contrasts with the old and classy sense I was trying to get across. The old and the new merged together is what I feel makes the magazine something that is tasteful and very much current right now.
So far, I really like the turn-out of the double page spread. My favourite part so far has to be the how well the interview in the three conventional columns have turned out. I like this because I feel it just brings the double page spread together, so far. I think it is started to look more like an actual magazine double page spread. Researching different POP magazine double page spreads, I saw that they normally have three columns with a drop capital letter. For me, I love the drop cap and the fact it is in red compared to the black body of the text during the article adds a more traditional effect.
For next time I post on my blog, I am planning on adding a pull quote in the middle of the text.
