For my double page spread, I copied and pasted the red banner to go at the top for the masthead from my contents page so they're the same. This way I could add the three conventional columns in and I have control over how far down I'd like my interview from the masthead. After I figured this out, I had a lot of 'dead space' at the end of the article that I wanted to fill in. I also needed to fill in the dead space under the masthead because I didn't want to stretch my interview out even more as there wasn't much more space it could fill. So I added 'AUSTIN FEVER' under the masthead to make the space less apparent.
So far, I am happy with my double page spread.
In the future, I am planning on adding:
- The page reference number, the same as what I put on my contents page.
- The 'BRIT HITS' website and the date of issue.
- An obvious pull quote.
- Add the masthead and 'BRIT HITS' logo.
- A full page image of the artist, and edited version.
