Here I have continued to work on my front cover to add all the sell lines in. I am happy with the look of the sell lines now because I have added more content onto the cover, making it look a lot more entertaining and attractive. Instead of making the magazine boring by just using the same colour fonts of black, I made the magazine cover stand out by creating a different coloured outline. My favourite part is 'BRUNO BLACK ON HIS BREAK UP WITH EMILY CANN'. I love this sell line because I feel that the outline adds character to the magazine by making it not just stand out, but help to make it look like less writing and more image-like. This way, I believe the reader finds it less like a chore to read, and more of something that is captivating and entertaining for them to look at. Otherwise, the magazine would have no character, and therefore, nothing that is worth reading. The fact that the two famous names are outlined in white highlights the importance of these mega POP stars. These stars are influential and inspire my target audience, therefore, they need to be seen through being a lot more eye catching. Together with this, I also am happy with the font and colour of 'ON HIS BREAK UP WITH' as it compliments and brings out the white in the two artists' names.
In my previous progress blog post I mentioned that in order to be more content with the magazine I needed to experiment and chose different fonts, colours and styles of writing in order to make the magazine a lot more compelling for the reader to set eyes on. One way in which I have experimented is making a background colour for 'THE WOLVES'. To me, I feel I have pushed myself into doing something slightly different, which reflects what the current POP music industry is doing this point in time. I love the red background around the black coloured font because I feel it brings the words to life and adds a slight essence of mystery and sophistication to the magazine, making it look more professional. What I have come to realise is that the problem I had with the sell lines was the fact that I needed to make them stand out which is rather difficult considering I had a lot of writing and the main image took up a lot of the space. In order for me to overcome this problem, testing out different fonts, using italic styles on my writing as well as making the sell lines appear more 3D like by adding background shadows was something I continuously attempted to do throughout the last couple of weeks. Adding numbers instead of letters was a way of cutting up large chunks of writing and making it appear more engaging and clear for the readers. The fact that the numbers such as '10' instead of 'ten' I think made the front cover become a lot more exciting and captivating just by changing something so simple in my sell lines.
