Contents Page - Completed

This is my finished front cover. I have added the reviews and a quote to the film, 'THE REVENANT' which is a film I know that my target audience would love. I have added five-star shapes and made them yellow. This is so they look a lot more realistic.
I have also added five star shapes but I only made four of them yellow, and the other one grey. This is so it looks as if the 'LITTLE MIX' tour was given four stars out of five. I didn't want to give both reviews 5/5 because I feel that looks a little unrealistic.
However, overall I am pleased with the turn-out of my magazine because I feel I have met all areas that have been working towards. My favourite part of the magazine is the taster of the 'BRIT HITS INTERVIEW'. This is the section of writing underneath the image. Along with the image, I feel I have achieved a great intriguing section of writing that I hope would make people want to read on.
I also really like the image of the artist, 'ELLA EYRE'. To me, this is a really professional-like photograph. I love the fact that her hair is blowing in the wind. It adds to whole stylish and current look to the magazine. I also love the fact that she looks into the camera, again, connecting with the reader but also adds the slight mysterious look to it.
One thing I changed was the fact that I accidently added two page numbers under the 'REVIEWS' section, on the 'LITTLE MIX' review. Before it had a page number next to the POP group, Little Mix, but I also had a different page number on the actual photo. Once I realised this, I deleted the page number next to 'LITTLE MICX' because I felt that I wanted page reference numbers on all the images instead of the writing next to it. This way the images look a part of the magazine contents page and not just a random image that has been added.

Even though I am fairly happy with the contents page, If I could I'd change:

  1. I'd make the sell lines take up more space to look like they stand out even more.
  2. I would have made the footer and banner slightly more presentable by changing the font and maybe making the banner a dark grey instead of the harsh colour, black.
  3. Together with this, I am still unsure about the pull quote "I've done things I'm not entirely proud of". I like what it says, but I feel that I could have made it stand out against the dark t-shirt. Because the pull quote is in dark red, I should have made the pull quote contrast with that and make it a lighter shade of red.
I am equally very happy with the magazine, though because:

  1. I have mostly kept to my plan, and it went well in terms of most of it.
  2. I love the fact that my sell lines stand out by changing the outline colour and giving it the 3D look by adding a shadow. I think it works well.
  3. I also like the pug as it contains most of the house colours that make, in my opinion, it eye catching.
  4. I feel certain features look professional such as the date and price as well as the bar code.
