Contents Page Progress - 4

I have now added appropriate statements underneath the artists along with a bold name in red. The names I have chosen I feel suit the artists images and reflect them as individuals which are great for the POP music magazine. Their names are in a slightly larger font, standing out the colour red. I love the fact that I am not going overboard with red on the contents page, creating a happy medium that looks novel and interesting. I particularly like the statement, 'His journey from busking to booming'. This statement I feel fits the image perfectly as the artist is holding a guitar, implying that he used to go busking which holds an emotive element to the magazine as the artist has clearly started from nothing to something that is extremely overwhelming. It gives the music enthusiasts and aspiring artists hope that they could one day be as successful as that particular artist.
I think the use of my emotive writing is key to making the reader hooked to the magazine, making them feel that they're living the moment that is written on paper. It is because of this that I am becoming more pleased with my contents page because I feel it is coming to life and forming something that my target audience will find a pleasure to read.

Since the last time I updated my blog, I wanted to finish off the 'REVIEWS' section. First of all, I was rather sceptical about adding a review section for a movie because I felt it was nothing to do with music. However, after some research that I did, reviews for films are starting to become more and more popular for the magazine industry. I took this on board and decided that I was going to target my key audience by rating current and mainstream films that I felt they'd love to know about. I wanted to not only target the specific interests of the reader, which is music, but through other media outlets such as films. Also, the more products of interest to the reader I include, I know there would be more readers to take interest and ultimately make money for the magazine.
I also did a review on a girl band, 'LITTLE MIX' and their love tours across America. I was very keen to add this in the reviews section because young music enthusiasts would enjoy to learn about what others feel about tours of bands they may want to go to etc. I love this idea because I have always wanted to know what my friends or other people have thought of a band before I book tickets myself to go and see them. It is a new and exciting opportunity for others to read about artists that they may want to see so they can gather feedback and may feel more joyous to go and see the artists themselves.
I am not fully sure that this is a brilliant idea of mine, however, I wanted to try it out because I feel I wanted my magazine to be more edgy and different to other POP music magazines. I am going to go along with it anyway because I wanted to be different rather than what readers may feel is the 'same old' and normal.
I have almost completed my magazine and I am hoping to add the typical five-star reviews to the contents page in order to make it look more real and professional.
Overall, I am content with the progress I have made so far.
